- In detail
Grapes grown in the premium grape growing regions of the south-west of Western Australia are combined in our endeavour to capture the elusive nature and seductive charm of varietal Pinot Noir.
The 2010 season:
An uncharacteristically warm and dry spring was followed by a summer with little rain and low humidity. The autumn harvest period was dry and protracted with vintage conditions best described as warm.
The resulting red wines display strong varietal characters and supple ripe tannins.
Tasting Notes:
A lustrous garnet in colour with a transparent edge. The subtle aromas of red cherry and raspberry are delicate, fruit prominent and clean. A savoury fleshiness fills the mid palate which is balanced by subtle oak, soft mineral acidity and silky tannins.
Winemaking:
The grapes from eachvineyard site are chilled prior to fermentation on skins in 4 tonne open fermenters. Each fermentation is allowed to naturally warm before gentle hand plunging releases just the right amount of flavour, tannin and colour from the skins.
After gentle pressing, the wine is matured in French oak barriques for 18 months prior to blending, fining and bottling.
